Brow Henna in North Lakes
A natural, plant-based tint that stains both your brow hairs and the skin underneath — filling sparse areas and giving you fuller, more defined brows for up to two weeks. Ammonia-free, vegan, gentler than chemical dye.
Plant-based colour that fills as well as tints
Brow henna is made from the lawsonia plant — the same natural dye that's been used for centuries on hair and skin. We mix it fresh for every appointment, custom-shaded to your hair and skin tone, then paint it on like a mask. While it sits, it stains both the hair and the skin underneath, which is what makes the difference between henna and a regular tint.
That skin-stain is the whole point. If your brows have gaps, sparse areas or thin patches, henna fills them visually — the skin where hair should be takes colour, so the brow looks fuller and more defined even where there's no hair. No drawing, no microblading, no chemical dye near your eyes. Just a natural pigment doing the work that brow pencil does every morning.

The difference between the two — honestly
The question we get most. Both tint your brows. Both fade naturally over a couple of weeks. But they work very differently and suit different brows. Here's the honest comparison so you can pick the right one.
| Brow Henna | Brow Tint | |
|---|---|---|
| Stains | Hair and the skin underneath | Hair only |
| Lasts on hair | 3 to 4 weeks | 2 to 3 weeks |
| Lasts on skin | 1 to 2 weeks | No skin stain |
| Best for | Sparse, patchy or thin brows that need fill | Brows with good density that just need darker colour |
| Ingredients | Plant-based, ammonia-free, vegan | Chemical dye with developer |
| Processing time | 20 to 25 minutes | 10 to 15 minutes |
| Price (with shape) | $60 | $44 |
Quick rule: if your brows look thin or have gaps, henna gives you the filled-in look without daily makeup. If your brows are full but pale, regular tint is enough — and cheaper.
Who henna works best for
You'll love it if…
You fill your brows with pencil or powder every morning. You have sparse, patchy or over-plucked brows that need help looking fuller. You want a natural option without ammonia or chemical dye. You're pregnant and want a plant-based alternative. You've tried regular tint and it didn't give you the fill you wanted.
It's not for you if…
You have full, dense brows that just need darker colour — regular tint is cheaper and quicker. You have a known allergy to PPD or hair dye (we'd patch-test first). Your skin around the brow area is irritated, broken, sunburnt or freshly waxed. You want permanent results — cosmetic tattoo at our salon is the longer-lasting option.

The henna process, step by step
Consult
Shape and shade chosen for your face. We look at hair colour, skin tone and how full you want the brow to look.
Cleanse
Brow area gently prepped — clean, dry skin holds colour evenly.
Apply
Custom henna mix painted on the brow shape, including the skin under any sparse areas.
Develop
Left to process 20 to 25 minutes. The longer it sits, the deeper the stain.
Reveal
Wiped clean, mirror check, you decide if anything needs adjusting before you leave.
Making your henna last
The skin stain is the magic, but it's also what you need to protect. The first 24 hours determine how long the colour lasts.
- No water, sweat, or skincare on the brow area for 24 hours
- Skip the gym, sauna and hot showers for the first day
- Avoid oil-based cleansers and makeup removers — oils fade the stain fastest
- Skip exfoliants, retinol, AHAs and BHAs directly on the brow for a week
- Sunscreen helps preserve the colour — UV fades henna
- Brush gently with a clean spoolie to keep brows tidy
- Rebook around the three- to four-week mark before the colour starts to soften
Common questions
How long does brow henna last?
The skin stain lasts 1 to 2 weeks, the hair stain lasts 3 to 4 weeks. So you get the dramatic "filled-in" look for about two weeks, then a softer tinted-hair look for another couple of weeks as the skin colour fades naturally.
Will it look orange or stark?
No — quality salon henna comes in a full shade range from light blonde to deep black-brown. We custom-mix to match your hair and skin tone, so the result looks natural, not orange.
Does it hurt?
Not at all. Henna is completely painless — it's a tint, not a wax or thread. The only sensation is the cool feel of the paste being applied.
Can I get henna if I have very sparse brows?
Yes — this is exactly where henna shines. Because it stains the skin underneath, it fills in patchy areas and makes thin brows look noticeably fuller without makeup.
What should I do before my appointment?
Avoid heavy makeup or oily products on your brows on the day. Don't tint or wax at home in the 48 hours before. Arrive with clean, dry brows.
Can I combine henna with brow lamination or shaping?
Absolutely. Shape + Henna ($60) is our most-booked combo. You can also add henna onto a brow lamination service for the full reset.
Is henna safe during pregnancy?
Yes — because it's plant-based and ammonia-free, henna is one of the few brow services we're happy to do during pregnancy. Always let us know so we can patch test if it's your first time.
What's the difference between henna and cosmetic tattoo?
Henna is semi-permanent (2 to 4 weeks). Cosmetic tattoo (available at our salon) is long-lasting (12 to 18 months) and uses pigment implanted into the skin. Henna is the lower-commitment way to test how a fuller brow looks before considering tattoo.
